Conto Energia Termico is a Tholos exclusive product to incentive thermal Energy production from renewable sources and heat recovery from flue gas, waste heat, etc... With Conto Energia Termico Tholos pays a money consideration for the amount of thermal and cooling Energy saved or produced by its customers.
How does Conto Energia Termico work?
Tholos, as accredited agent, applies for EECs to AEEG (the Italian Electricity And Gas Regulator) through a certification process upon final balance. The service provides EECs management and their trading on Electricity Market, with relative price risk at the expense of Tholos.
Tholos Conto Energia Termico allows you to obtain Energy Efficiency Certificates for 5 years starting from the installation of the technology and the production of savings.
The strengths of the service:
INNOVATION – Conto energia Termico provides an incentive for the production of heat / cooling from renewable sources.
EXCLUSIVENESS – Conto energia Termico is the only recognized incentive for the following actions:
• use of heat / cooling from renewable sources
• energy efficiency in heating or cooling (i.e. economizers on industrial boilers, cold production with two-stage absorption chiller)
• heat recovery from free inputs (such as industrial furnaces, waste heat otherwise lost)
COMBINATION with Green Certificates and other incentive systems
With Tholos Conto Energia Termico:
• end users can benefit from an additional income, which adds to the savings made on fuel
• producers can have a competitive advantage over the competition
• the use of efficient technologies is constantly encouraged and promoted
HOW TO MAKE USE OF CONTO ENERGIA TERMICO
You are required to give Tholos some preliminary data:
• Boiler output
• Heat transfer fluid (steam, hot water, thermal oil)
• Hours of work, year and the industrial sector in which the economizer / boiler will be installed
- allow Tholos engineers to any technical pre-installation inspection
- install a heat meter on the economizer or on biomass boiler
- give Tholos the metered heat once or twice a year
Please note that the meter can be installed when constructing the economizer / boiler. Remote reading is provided for high power installations.
SERVICES PROVIDED BY THOLOS
PRESENTATION OF THE project proposal and measuring program. Tholos, after making a prior assessment and a possible site inspection (free), submit an application for the certification of savings obtained upon final balance to AEEG (Authority for Electricity and Gas), also considering the incorporation of the economizer up for two or more industrial customers alike.
Presentation of RVC - Tholos makes the requests for verification and certification of savings at least once a year, after having received meter readings from its customers.
TRADE OF EECs - Tholos trades EECs in the Electricity Market and customers receive from Tholos the correspondent value deriving from the EECs ‘trading or the correspondent value agreed for each MWh saved.
SOME OF THE ACTIONS ELIGIBLE FOR Conto Energia Termico:
ECONOMIZERS for the preheating of water-fuelled industrial boilers.
Energy Efficiency Certificates produce significant revenues when the interventions reach a value that is greater than 600 MWh/year in terms of waste heat recovery
New installation of BIOMASS BOILERs or replacement of existing boilers powered by fossil fuels.
In this case Energy Efficiency Certificates produce significant revenues when the interventions reach a value that is greater than 1.000 MWh/year in terms of thermal energy produced.
Three months after sending the meter readings of thermal energy produced, customers will receive from Tholos an agreed value per MWh saved and read by the meter. In five years net revenues for customers are greater than the cost of the boiler or economizer.
